Target with a 2 year old

So the day started off pretty good! Besides the wake up call from Julia at 5:45, I don't know if this is a faze or what but this is too early for me. My friend said she is just preparing me for when the new baby comes. I don't know. So I got her up and told her that even the sun wasn't up yet so she had to cuddle with me on the couch. She was begging for me to turn on her "movie" which just means cartoons but I didn't want her to get the idea that whenever she wakes up the TV will come on. So I managed to have her just lay there with me until 6:30. Now that is more manageable! I can do that! Do I want to no, but I am a Mom and that is my job. The rest of the morning went great we got ready and headed to Target to get a few things. We found ourselves in the kids shoe area. Julia loves to try on shoes! We had to have been there for at least 20 minuets before I told her she needed to put her own shoes back on and lets go. You would have thought that her world had just ended she was kicking and screaming. I had to pick her up like a football with her under one arm and me pushing the stroller to the check out with the other. She was absolutely freaking out the whole time I was trying to pay. And wouldn't you know that the pin pad was giving me drama. I could just feel all eyes on me and I hate that! It was awful! She was like that all the way to the car and half way home. Just trying to get her in the car seat was even more terrible 2 drama! Needless to say we got home, I gave her some lunch and she is thankfully napping now. I hope she wakes up like my normal Julia. So that was my morning...Hope yours was better.

Our adventure to the park

Before nap time I took Julia to the park down the street. She walked all the way there, with me pushing the stroller if she got tired. She loves to collect things on our walks like flowers, rocks, sticks...pretty much anything! Today she wanted to take her backpack along so that she could put her "treasures" in the bag. She is just so dang cute! Here are a few pics... and a video of her on the swing.

Julia loves to swing like a big girl!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Morning started off pretty nice. I had asked Luke to wake up with Julia in the morning so I could go back to bed for an hour or so. I was SO looking forward to sleeping in, but wouldn't you know I just layed there for an hour not being able to fall back asleep!! Arghh!! Why that day? Anyways I got up, got ready and took Julia to the park at Shelter Island. She and I had so much fun!! She got to see a fire engine and meet a fire lady. Julia even got a Jr. Fireman sticker. When we got back it was Julia's nap time so I put her down and started cleaning up the house, thankfully Luke helped me out with the cleaning! After Julia woke up we went to the mall. I was so excited to get some See's chocolates! We came home and Luke cooked us dinner. He made us swordfish, rice and salad. It was really good!! It turned out to be a really nice night!

My Big Girl is 2 1/2

I can't believe it! Julia is 2 1/2 today! Where has the time gone? We had a great day together! We went to Balboa Park with Luke's Cousin who took some beautiful pictures of Julia for us. I usually get pictures taken at the Picture People every 6 months but Kasey is so good at taking pictures of her own kids, I knew she would get some great shots of Julia.

Here is a video I took the other night of Julia singing the ABC song. I love it!

Mission Bay

It has been forever since I posted anything so here it is. This morning we got up and went to Mission Beach and met up with our friend to walk around a good part of Mission Bay. It was really beautiful today! Yesterday it was raining all day so we really wanted to get out and do something fun today. Julia had fun playing at the park and picking up a ton of shells. She is quite the collector. We stayed out way past nap time and at the end I was thinking to myself why did we do that? But it all worked out in the end. She let Daddy give her a shoulder ride back to the car and I managed to keep her awake until we got home so she could get a good nap in. As for my Pregnancy I am 15 wks. now and REALLY showing. I can't believe how quickly this bump showed itself! SO much faster than with Julia, but I guess that is how it goes. Well that's it for now..I am off to enjoy the rest of Julia's nap!

New Years

For New Years Eve we drove out to Yuma AZ to hang out with our good friends who live out there. We had a great time! Luke and our friend Gabe, he actually introduced me to Luke way back when...in fact 10 years together this month. Can you believe it? Anyways they were in a band back then so all the members got back together and played at Gabe and Tammy's house on New Years Eve. It was great!! Just like old times minus the glass of water in my hand rather than some other tasty beverage....no drinking for me this time or for the next many months...but the water sure tasted great! =) So anyways Luke was such a trooper he partied like a rock star and then had to drive us back home the next morning cause I was SO miserably sick!!! I was hunched over in severe pain and I swear that the 8 hasn't been paved in I don't know how long it was SO bumpy! We did stop on the way home at Luke's Grandmas house and he and Julia were able to check on the property and make sure all was well. I stayed in the car sleeping for most of the time. Then we stopped off at the Cemetery to say "hello". Julia recognized her name on the headstone so it was nice to be able to tell her again about how she got her name. The rest of the day went pretty good. Julia slept most of the way and Luke drove 95% of the trip back until he couldn't keep his eyes open but by that time I was doing way better so I took over!! So it all worked out! Thanks for having us out there guys!!

Christmas at the dome....

We had such a great time over Christmas! This year was Luke's family's turn and so we headed up to the Mojave desert! What a trip!! You can literally melt there in the Summer and then freeze in the Winter. We didn't see any snow but it sure was cold enough for some,20's and 30's. We were glad we had our "Winter" gear with us. It snowed at Luke's parents house over night but we stayed at Luke's Sister's house and it was all gone by the time we got there the next day. I was still not feeling well at that point with the morning sickness and all but I tried to hang in there and make the best of it. Thanks for the TLC Mom and Theresa!! Julia had so much fun playing with her Cousins, it was really cute watching them be together again. Santa wrote Julia a note and unfortunately I thought it was cooler than she did. Maybe next year it will be cool for her too?
